Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
Where: Northeastern Austin County in southeastern Texa
S: Southeastern Brazos County in southeastern Texa
S: Southern Grimes County in southeastern Texa
S: Harris County in southeastern Texa
S: Southwestern Montgomery County in southeastern Texa
S: Waller County in southeastern Texa
S: Eastern Washington County in southeastern Texa

When: Until 1130 PM CDT.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
Additional Details: - At 918 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Tomball, Navasota, Hempstead, Prairie View, Pinehurst, Washington, Hockley, Waller, Magnolia, Pine Island, Montgomery and Stagecoach. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Recommended Action

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
