Description

The National Weather Service in State College PA has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Elk County in north central Pennsylvania McKean County in north central Pennsylvania Southeastern Warren County in north central Pennsylvania Until 1215 AM EDT. At 1108 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Ludlow to 10 miles northwest of Marienville, moving southeast at 55 mph.
Hazard: 60 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail.
Source: Radar indicated.
Impact: Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include St. Marys, Bradford, Ridgway, Kane, Johnsonburg, Port Allegany, Sheffield, Smethport, Wetmore, Betula, Wilcox, and James City.

Recommended Action

Stay inside a well built structure and keep away from windows. Very heavy rainfall is occurring with these severe thunderstorms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

Description

At 1121 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing both tornadoes and extensive straight line wind damage were located near Wetmore, or 6 miles west of Kane, moving southeast at 40 mph.
Hazard: Tornado.
Source: Radar indicated rotation.
Impact: Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. This tornado will be near James City, Wetmore, Kane, Ludlow and Sheffield around 1125 PM EDT.
