Description

The National Weather Service in State College PA has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Eastern Cameron County in north central Pennsylvania Central Centre County in central Pennsylvania Northeastern Clearfield County in central Pennsylvania Clinton County in north central Pennsylvania Western Lycoming County in north central Pennsylvania Southern Potter County in north central Pennsylvania Southwestern Tioga County in north central Pennsylvania Until 645 PM EDT. At 550 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Wharton to Snow Shoe, moving northeast at 45 mph.
Hazard: 60 mph wind gusts.

Impact: Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include Lock Haven, Jersey Shore, Cameron, Wharton, Keating, Mill Hall, Avis, Dunnstown, Flemington, Renovo, Castanea, and Galeton. For those driving on Interstate 80, this includes areas between the Kylertown and Loganton exits, specifically between mile markers 140 and 158, and between mile markers 168 and 173, and near mile marker 179.

Recommended Action

Stay inside a well built structure and keep away from windows. Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these severe thunderstorms. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Very heavy rainfall is occurring with these severe thunderstorms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
