Recommended Action
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or creeks.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning

Description

At 1043 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Whitesville, or 9 miles east of Wellsville, moving east at 45 mph.
Hazard: 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
Source: Radar indicated.
Impact: Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include Wellsville, Alfred, Whitesville, Friendship, Scio, Bolivar, Andover, Belmont, Alma, and Richburg. This includes Interstate 86 near exit 29.

Recommended Action

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
