Forecast flooding changed from Minor to Moderate severity and increased in duration for the following rivers in Nebraska Turkey Creek Near Wilber affecting Saline County. Additional information is available at water.noaa.gov. The next statement will be issued this evening at 900 PM CDT. What: Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. Where: Turkey Creek near Wilber. When: Until late Sunday night. Impacts: At 16.0 feet, Significant flooding of row crops in the flood plain begins. Downstream of the gage the town of De Witt may start experiencing flooding. Additional Details: - At 7:45 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 15.9 feet. - Bankfull stage is 11.0 feet. - Recent ActivityThe maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 7:45 AM CDT Thursday was 15.9 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise to a crest of 16.8 feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage late Sunday evening. - Flood stage is 12.5 feet. - Flood HistoryThis crest compares to a previous crest of 16.8 feet on 05/30/2013. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Nebraska Lincoln Creek Near Seward affecting Seward County. Big Blue River Near Crete affecting Saline County. Big Blue River Near Barneston affecting Gage County. Big Blue River At Beatrice affecting Gage County. Big Blue River Near Seward affecting Seward County. Turkey Creek near De Witt affecting Gage and Saline Counties. Little Blue River Near Fairbury affecting Jefferson County.
: The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Nebraska West Fork Big Blue River Near Dorchester affecting Seward and Saline Counties.
What: Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
Where: West Fork Big Blue River near Dorchester.
When: Until Sunday morning.
Impacts: At 22.0 feet, The county road about 500 feet north of the gage begins to flood.
Additional Details: - At 8:00 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 15.6 feet. - Bankfull stage is 15.0 feet. - Recent ActivityThe maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 8:00 AM CDT Thursday was 15.6 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise to a crest of 21.4 feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage early Saturday afternoon. - Flood stage is 15.0 feet. - Flood HistoryThis crest compares to a previous crest of 21.2 feet on 06/08/2015. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Recommended Action

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Where: Big Blue River near Crete.
When: Until Monday morning.
Impacts: At 29.0 feet, Extensive flooding is widespread. Past floods have not flooded the urban areas of Crete.

Additional Details: - At 7:45 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 21.1 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise above flood stage late this morning to a crest of 26.2 feet tomorrow morning.
