Tornado Warning
Severe Thunderstorm Warning
The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Northwestern Adair County in northeastern Missouri Northern Sullivan County in north central Missouri Southern Putnam County in north central Missouri Until 800 PM CDT. At 707 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 7 miles north of Milan, moving east at 40 mph.
Hazard: Ping pong ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.

Impact: People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include Green City, Novinger, Greencastle, Pollock, Worthington, Lemons, and Green Castle.
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 900 PM CDT for north central and northeastern Missouri.
Flood Warning
The National Weather Service in Kansas City/Pleasant Hill has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Missouri Chariton River at Novinger affecting Schuyler, Adair, Putnam and Macon Counties. Chariton River near Prairie Hill affecting Chariton and Macon Counties.
What: Minor flooding is forecast.
Where: Chariton River at Novinger.
When: From Thursday morning to Friday afternoon.
Impacts: At 20.0 feet, Farm fields along the river begin to flood.
Additional Details: - At 3:45 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 3.3 feet. - ForecastThe river will rise above flood stage tomorrow morning to 20.5 feet early tomorrow afternoon. Flood Advisory
What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: Northern Macon County in north central Missouri Adair County in northeastern Missouri
When: Until 1030 PM CDT.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Additional Details: - At 637 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is already occurring in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Kirksville, La Plata, Novinger, Brashear, Gibbs, Millard, Elmer, South Gifford and Kirksville Regional. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
