Description

The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Kansa
S: Neosho River at Oswego affecting Labette and Cherokee Counties. Neosho River near Parsons affecting Labette and Neosho Counties.
What: Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
Where: Neosho River near Parsons.
When: Until late Wednesday morning.
Impacts: At 23.0 feet, Flood waters spread over fields to a distance of 1 and one fourth miles. Several county roads, mainly along the left bank are inundated. Several residents which live along the right bank in the vicinity of Highway 400 may experience water entering their homes at basement levels.
Additional Details: - At 11:30 PM CDT Monday the stage was 24.9 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise to a crest of 24.9 feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage late tomorrow evening. - Flood stage is 21.0 feet.

Recommended Action

Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Even 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock you off your feet and a depth of 2 feet will float your car. Never try to walk, swim, or drive through such swift water. If you come upon flood waters, stop, turn around and go another way. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov. The next statement will be issued Tuesday afternoon at 100 PM CDT.

Description

The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Kansa
S: Neosho River at Oswego affecting Labette and Cherokee Counties. Neosho River near Parsons affecting Labette and Neosho Counties.
What: Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
Where: Neosho River at Oswego.
When: Until late Thursday morning.
Impacts: At 21.0 feet, Xavier Road leading north from the river gage bridge floods in that immediate vicinity. Also 13000 Road along the north side of the river bank floods. West of the town of Faulkner, homes along 120th Street between Star Road and Clem Road begin to flood.
Additional Details: - At 9:30 PM CDT Monday the stage was 19.9 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise to a crest of 20.5 feet early tomorrow afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage Wednesday afternoon. - Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
