Description

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 220 REMAINS VALID UNTIL 6 PM EDT THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN INDIANA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 12 COUNTIES IN CENTRAL INDIANA HANCOCK JOHNSON MADISON MARION MORGAN SHELBY IN EAST CENTRAL INDIANA DELAWARE HENRY RANDOLPH IN SOUTHWEST INDIANA SULLIVAN IN WEST CENTRAL INDIANA CLAY OWEN THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF ANDERSON, BRAZIL, CARLISLE, FARMERSBURG, FARMLAND, FRANKLIN, GOSPORT, GREENFIELD, GREENWOOD, INDIANAPOLIS, MARTINSVILLE, MOORESVILLE, MUNCIE, NEW CASTLE, PARKER CITY, SHELBURN, SHELBYVILLE, SPENCER, SULLIVAN, UNION CITY, AND WINCHESTER.

Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: Monroe County in south central Indiana Daviess County in southwestern Indiana Greene County in southwestern Indiana Knox County in southwestern Indiana Northwestern Martin County in southwestern Indiana Southern Clay County in west central Indiana Owen County in west central Indiana
When: Until 845 PM EDT.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways.
Additional Details: - At 355 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.75 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.25 to 1.25 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Bloomington, Vincennes, Washington, Linton, Bloomfield, Spencer, Ellettsville, Bicknell, Worthington, Odon, Gosport, Lyons, Elnora, Oaktown, Monroe City, Wheatland, Bruceville, Plainville, Sandborn and Edwardsport. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
