Description
What: Heat index values of around 105 expected today, then around 100 to 105 expected on Thursday.
Where: Portions of central, east central, north central, and northeast Illinois and northwest Indiana.
When: Until 9 PM CDT /10 PM EDT/ Thursday.
Impacts: Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.
Recommended Action
Take extra precautions when outside or consider altering outdoor plans. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
