What: Avalanche conditions are dangerous above treeline.
Where: San Juan Mountains
When: From 4:30 PM Sunday until 4:30 PM Monday.
Impacts: Backcountry travelers can easily trigger dangerous avalanches large enough to bury a human.
Precaution/Preparedness Actions: A potent winter storm increases avalanche danger Sunday into Monday. Rain, snow, and wind will cause natural avalanches above treeline. Check the forecast at www.colorado.gov/avalanche. Beyer
