Description

Forecast flooding changed from Moderate to Major severity and increased in duration for the following rivers in West Virginia Tygart Valley River At Philippi affecting Barbour County. For the Tygart Valley RiverMajor flooding is forecast.
What: Major flooding is forecast.
Where: Tygart Valley River at Philippi.
When: Until Thursday morning.
Impacts: At 25.0 feet, Most areas along the river are flooded.
Additional Details: - At 12:47 AM EDT Wednesday the stage was 17.5 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise above flood stage early this morning to a crest of 25.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 19.0 feet. - Flood HistoryThis crest compares to a previous crest of 25.0 feet on 02/04/1932. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
