Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: Central Salt Lake County in northern Utah
When: Until 700 PM MDT.
Impacts: Flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Additional Details: - At 412 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 0.75 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Salt Lake City, West Valley City, Sandy, Murray, West Jordan, Taylorsville, South Jordan, Draper, Riverton, Cottonwood Heights, Midvale, Holladay, South Salt Lake, Bluffdale, Cottonwood West, Millcreek, Little Cottonwood Creek Valley and East Millcreek. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Recommended Action

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
