What: Heat index values up to 104 expected.
Where: Cambria, Cameron, Clearfield, Elk, Northern Centre, Northern Clinton, Northern Lycoming, Potter, Sullivan, and Tioga Counties.
When: From noon Wednesday to 8 PM EDT Thursday.
Impacts: Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.
Additional Details: High temperatures will be well into the 90s. Heat index values will be even higher. While temperatures will remain hot on Friday, they should be a couple of degrees lower.
Drink plenty of fluids, stay out of the sun, and stay in an air-conditioned room. Review heat safety and preparedness information at weather.gov/safety/heat. Power outages are possible during periods of extended heat as the extra demand for electricity can tax the power grid. Be prepared for a possible power outage.
