Description

What: Heavy mixed precipitation possible. Total snow and sleet accumulations up to one inch and ice accumulations up to three tenths of an inch possible.
Where: Crawford and Southern Erie Counties.
When: From Friday morning through Friday evening.
Impacts: Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Significant ice accumulation on power lines and tree limbs may cause widespread power outages. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday morning and evening commutes along with any holiday travel.
Additional Details: A wintry mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain is expected Friday morning, transitioning to mostly freezing rain early Friday afternoon through Friday evening. Freezing rain will likely end late Friday night. Confidence in ice accumulations of a quarter inch or more of ice is greatest south of I-90 and east of I-79.

Monitor the latest forecasts for updates on this situation. Persons should delay all travel if possible. If travel is absolutely necessary, drive with extreme caution and be prepared for sudden changes in road conditions. Leave plenty of room between you and the motorist ahead of you, and allow extra time to reach your destination. Avoid sudden braking or acceleration, and be especially cautious on hills or when making turns. Make sure your car is winterized and in good working order.
