Flood Advisory
What: Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: Portions of central and northern New Hampshire, including the following counties, in central New Hampshire, Belknap, Merrimack and Sullivan. In northern New Hampshire, Grafton.
When: Until 900 AM EDT.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways.
Additional Details: - At 652 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain between Lebanon and Danbury. This will cause rises in small streams, and rapid runoff in the hills which can cause minor flooding in roads. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Claremont, Lebanon, Franklin, New London, Plymouth, Meredith, Grafton, Hanover, Enfield and Canaan.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or creeks.
