Flash Flood Watch
What: Flash flooding and debris flows caused by excessive rainfall are possible over the North Remington McGhee, Elk, Robertson Draw, and East Side burn areas.
Where: Portions of Montana, including the following areas, Absaroka/Beartooth Mountains, Red Lodge Foothills and Southern Rosebud and north central Wyoming, including the following areas, Northeast Bighorn Mountains and Sheridan Foothills.
When: Until midnight MDT tonight.
Impacts: Periods of heavy rainfall with embedded thunderstorms are expected over the North Remington McGhee, Elk, Robertson Draw, and East Side burn areas this afternoon and evening. Residents in and downstream of these burn areas should be prepared for potential rapid runoff, flooding, and debris flows. Narrow drainages and low-lying areas are especially prone to flooding. Be sure to stay up to date with information from local authorities.
Additional Details: - Periods of heavy rainfall with embedded thunderstorms are expected across the region. The North Remington burn area in southern Rosebud County, Elk burn area along the eastern slopes of the Bighorn Mountains, and the Robertson Draw and East Side burn areas south of Red Lodge, could experience flash flooding and debris flows.
