Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: Portions of southeast Kansas, including the following county, Cherokee and southwest Missouri, including the following counties, Jasper and Newton.
When: Until 300 PM CDT.
Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable.
Additional Details: - At 1156 AM CDT, Emergency management reported heavy rain in the warned area due to thunderstorms. Flooding is already occurring. - This includes the following low water crossing
S: Lost Creek at Highway CC, High School Branch at McCord Street, Hickory Creek at Coler RD, Buffalo Creek at Finch Drive and North Indian Creek at Orchid Drive. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Joplin, Neosho, Baxter Springs, Columbus, Webb City, Carl Junction, Galena, Oronogo, Seneca, Granby, Carterville, Duquesne, Duenweg, Diamond, Leawood, Silver Creek, Fairview, Shoal Creek Drive, Saginaw, Loma Linda, Airport Drive, Lowell, Fidelity, Asbury, Newtonia, Stella, Redings Mill, Stark City, Grand Falls Plaza, Shoal Creek Estates, Waco, Ritchey, Dennis Acres, Cliff Village, Iron Gates, Oakland Park, Racine, Atlas, Riverton and Lawton. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
