Description

The National Weather Service in St Louis has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Northwestern Adams County in west central Illinoi
S: Southern Knox County in northeastern Missouri Southern Lewis County in northeastern Missouri Northwestern Marion County in northeastern Missouri Northern Shelby County in northeastern Missouri Until 200 AM CDT. At 1105 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
Hazard: Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

Impact: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include Quincy, Mendon, La Grange, Ewing, Steffenville, Maywood, Plevna, Ursa, Taylor, Lima, Novelty, Bethel, Newark, Leonard and Meyer. This includes the following State Park
S: Wakonda State Park.

Recommended Action

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
