Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: East Central Dickinson County in central Kansa
S: Geary County in east central Kansa
S: Northwestern Morris County in east central Kansa
S: West Central Wabaunsee County in east central Kansa

When: Until 1015 PM CDT.
Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable.
Additional Details: - At 651 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to storms. Flooding is already occurring in the warned area. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch is possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Junction City, Grandview Plaza, White City, Dwight, Parkerville, Latimer and Council Grove Lake. - This includes Interstate 70 between mile markers 291 and 302 and between mile markers 310 and 315.

Recommended Action

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
