: The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Indiana Wabash River at Lafayette. .Lowland minor flooding will develop along the Wabash River as a result of heavy rainfall.
What: Minor flooding is forecast.
Where: Wabash River at Terre Haute.
When: From late Friday night to Thursday, August 20.
Impacts: At 19.5 feet, Water begins to rise in the Izaak Walton Lake. Sheet flowing water begins in the wetland project between U.S. 40 and I-70, and during a prolonged flood event project fills about 75 percent.
Additional Details: - At 5:30 PM EDT Thursday /4:30 PM CDT Thursday/ the stage was 7.5 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise above flood stage early Saturday morning to a crest of 20.0 feet Monday morning. Additional Details: - At 4:45 PM EDT Thursday the stage was 11.0 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise above flood stage just after midnight tonight to a crest of 19.0 feet Sunday morning. Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Overflowing poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
Additional Details: - At 406 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Terre Haute, Brazil, Clinton, Rockville, Newport, Fairview Park, Cayuga, Seelyville, Montezuma, Knightsville, Rosedale, Harmony, New Market, Dana, Staunton, Kingman, Perrysville, Waveland, Carbon and Universal. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
