Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: Boone County in north central Illinoi
S: Winnebago County in north central Illinoi
S: Lake IL County in northeastern Illinoi
S: McHenry County in northeastern Illinoi

When: Until 900 AM CDT.
Impacts: Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
Additional Details: - At 324 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms producing rainfall amounts in excess of one inch per hour. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. One to two inches of rain has fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of one to two inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Rockford, Waukegan, Buffalo Grove, Crystal Lake, Wheeling, North Chicago, Gurnee, Mundelein, Algonquin, Highland Park, Lake in the Hills, Round Lake Beach, McHenry, Belvidere, Vernon Hills, Woodstock, Zion, Huntley, Loves Park, Machesney Park, Grayslake and Libertyville. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Recommended Action

A Flood Advisory means minor flooding along waterways and other poor drainage areas is imminent or may already be occurring. Persons in the advisory area should use caution and avoid flood waters.
