The National Weather Service in Omaha has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Montgomery County in southwestern Iowa Southeastern Mills County in southwestern Iowa Until 1145 PM CDT. At 1044 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 3 miles southeast of Henderson to 3 miles northeast of Emerson to 7 miles east of Randolph, moving east at 30 mph.
Hazard: 70 mph wind gusts and ping pong ball size hail.

Impact: People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Severe thunderstorms will be near Red Oak around 1050 PM CDT. Elliott around 1100 PM CDT. Other locations in the path of these severe thunderstorms include Stanton, Villisca and Grant.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
