Winter Storm Warning
What: Strong winds and heavy snow expected. Strong winds ease this morning, then increase again tonight into Thursday, at 30 to 40 mph with gusts of 50 to 60 mph. Snow levels will remain high before lowering to 4500 ft later today. Heavy snow expected above 4500 ft with additional snow accumulations of 8 to 16 inches. Above 5500 feet, 1 to 3 feet of snow expected.
Where: Above 4500 ft in Siskiyou County. This includes Etna Summit on Sawyers Bar Road, Scott Mountain Pass on Highway 3, and portions of Highway 97 south of MacDoel that includes Grass Lake at Mt Hebron.
When: Until 10 AM PST Friday.
Impacts: Travel may be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday morning and evening commutes. Very strong winds could cause tree damage. Areas of power outages are expected through the event.
