Description

The National Weather Service in Little Rock has extended the Flash Flood Warning for Southeastern Boone County in north central Arkansa
S: Southern Marion County in north central Arkansa
S: Northeastern Newton County in north central Arkansa
S: Northwestern Searcy County in north central Arkansa
S: Until 1000 PM CDT. At 738 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. More heavy rainfall is about to move back across the warned area. As a resultflash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
Hazard: Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

Impact: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include Yellville Flippin Western Grove Pyatt Valley Spring

Recommended Action

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
