A multi-day episode of very cold wind chills continues.

In Deline: Increasing winds will drop wind chill values to near minus 50 this evening.

In other communities: Temperatures will begin to rise this evening, but increasing winds will keep wind chill values near minus 50.

Wind chill values will moderate overnight or Saturday morning.

Ongoing impacts being felt within the communities will be further exacerbated by the continuation of the cold.

Dress warmly. Dress in layers that you can remove if you get too warm. The outer layer should be wind resistant.

Cover up. Frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with wind chill.

If it’s too cold for you to stay outside, it’s too cold for your pet to stay outside.

Make sure your home is well-insulated, the heating system is working efficiently and cracks and drafts are sealed.

Outdoor workers should take regularly scheduled breaks to warm up.
