A major winter storm is poised to impact the Kivalliq region beginning Tuesday night.

Hazards from this winter storm may include severe wind gusts in excess of 90 km/h and prolonged blizzard conditions, particularly for the Kivalliq coastal communities.

Visibility may be suddenly reduced to near zero at times. Prolonged utility outages are possible. Significant property damage is possible.
