This is a DANGEROUS SITUATION. These storms are producing widespread wind damage across Western New York. SEEK SHELTER NOW inside a sturdy structure and stay away from windows! Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning are occurring with these storms. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for western New York.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED TORNADO WATCH 645 IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN NEW YORK THIS WATCH INCLUDES 16 COUNTIES IN CENTRAL NEW YORK CAYUGA JEFFERSON LEWIS OSWEGO IN WESTERN NEW YORK ALLEGANY CATTARAUGUS CHAUTAUQUA ERIE GENESEE LIVINGSTON MONROE NIAGARA ONTARIO ORLEANS WAYNE WYOMING THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF AUBURN, BATAVIA, BUFFALO, CANANDAIGUA, FAIR HAVEN, GENESEO, JAMESTOWN, LOWVILLE, MEDINA, NEWARK, NIAGARA FALLS, OLEAN, OSWEGO, ROCHESTER, WARSAW, WATERTOWN, AND WELLSVILLE.
