THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 426 IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 AM CDT /1 AM MDT/ WEDNESDAY FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN NEBRASKA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 25 COUNTIES IN CENTRAL NEBRASKA CUSTER IN NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA BLAINE BOYD BROWN CHERRY GARFIELD HOLT KEYA PAHA LOUP ROCK THOMAS WHEELER IN PANHANDLE NEBRASKA DEUEL GARDEN IN SOUTHWEST NEBRASKA CHASE FRONTIER HAYES KEITH LINCOLN PERKINS IN WEST CENTRAL NEBRASKA ARTHUR GRANT HOOKER LOGAN MCPHERSON THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF AINSWORTH, ARTHUR, ATKINSON, BARTLETT, BASSETT, BIG SPRINGS, BREWSTER, BROKEN BOW, BURWELL, BUTTE, CHAMPION, CHAPPELL, CURTIS, DUNNING, ENDERS, ERICSON, EUSTIS, GRANT, HALSEY, HAYES CENTER, HYANNIS, IMPERIAL, LEWELLEN, LYNCH, MAYWOOD, MULLEN, NORTH PLATTE, O'NEILL, OGALLALA, OSHKOSH, PAXTON, PURDUM, RINGGOLD, ROSE, SPENCER, SPRINGVIEW, STAPLETON, TAYLOR, THEDFORD, TRYON, VALENTINE, AND WAUNETA.

At 957 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Venango, or 17 miles east of Holyoke, moving northeast at 45 mph.
Hazard: Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail.

Impact: Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include Grant, Madrid, Venango, Elsie, Lamar, Wild Horse Spring, and Brandon. This includes Highway 61 between mile markers 53 and 73.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 100 AM MDT for southwestern Nebraska.

At 954 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Ogallala, moving northeast at 55 mph.
Hazard: 70 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail.
Source: Automated weather sensors have recorded multiple 60 to 70 mile per hour wind gusts across Garden and Keith counties.
Impact: Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations impacted include Ogallala, Paxton, Brule, Sarben, Roscoe, Nevens, and Broganville. This includes the following highway
S: Highway 61 between mile markers 80 and 86, and between mile markers 91 and 93. Interstate 80 in Nebraska between mile markers 117 and 150.
