Additional information:
A vigorous low pressure system passing through northern B.C. will bring strong west/southwesterly winds beginning this afternoon. The Yellowhead region will see strong northwesterly winds mainly overnight.

Wind gusts of 70 to 90 km/h are expected, with gusts possibly exceeding 90 km/h in exposed areas. These strong winds will persist overnight and ease throughout the day on Sunday.

Local utility outages are possible. High-sided vehicles will be pushed around by the wind. There is a risk of injury due to flying or falling debris.

Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.
