Try not to sneeze: Helicopter stirs up clouds of pollen
If you have allergies, you may have a hard time watching this video.
Check out this footage, captured by Georgia's West Point management officials last week, featuring green pollen clouds exploding from trees.
The breeze from a prescribed burn helicopter knocked the powdery substance off its branches at every pass, creating yellow clouds.
POLLEN AND SEASONAL ALLERGIES
If you suffer from hay fever you're likely familiar with pollen, which is one of the most common triggers of seasonal allergies according to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America. In spring, summer, and fall, plants release pollen to help fertilize nearby plants of the same species.
Pollen travels through the wind. When inhaled by someone with a sensitivity to it, pollen can cause a runny nose, sneezing, watery eyes, and swelling, among other things.
