The freezing precipitation in parts of B.C. Tuesday night made for rather slippery roads and dicey travel, as well as stunning photos that showed trees, roads, vehicles and other objects coated with a layer of ice.
Surfaces in parts of the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island in B.C. were glazed with ice Tuesday night after near-freezing temperatures and a low-pressure system brought a period of freezing rain.
The freezing precipitation made for rather slippery roads and dicey travel, as well as stunning photos that showed trees, roads, vehicles and other objects coated with a layer of ice.
The icy part of the current system, two lows merged as a single storm, has since ended, with warmer air moving in and transitioning precipitation to rain for the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island by early Wednesday morning.
