Wednesday, April 8th 2020, 8:21 am - Potent thunderstorms moved through parts of southwestern Ontario late Tuesday and early Wednesday, lighting up the night sky and bringing significant hail.
Many across southwestern Ontario had their eyes peeled to the sky late Tuesday — and it wasn't just to catch a glimpse of April's Super Pink Moon.
Incredible lightning, thunder, hail, and gusty winds swept through parts of the region amid severe thunderstorm watches and warnings during the evening and overnight hours.
Photos and videos of Nickle- and Loonie-sized hail poured in on social media late Tuesday from areas including Windsor, Essex, Leamington, and Chatham.
Even larger hail was reported in north London, with some having seen hail that measured over an inch. Farther east, parts of the Toronto area saw pea-sized hail and periods of rain.

Lingering showers have wrapped up Wednesday morning, though the chance for rain returns late afternoon with another passing front.
Meanwhile, temperatures will continue to fall ahead of the weekend, with winds between 50-70 km/h expected to pick up on Friday.
Here's a look at some of the highlights from southern Ontario's recent spring storms.
