Threat of thundershowers across Ontario, sunny fall week ahead
Most of the thunderstorms for southern Ontario will occur overnight from Saturday, but there could still be some storm energy left in the morning.
Ontario could be waking up to some leftover overnight showers. Thunderstorms are moving eastward and should clear Ontario and make their way into Quebec by noon Sunday. Ontario will also enjoy a nice and windy Sunday as a front passes through. Areas in the east, such as Kingston and Ottawa, could feel winds up to 60 km/h. Temperatures will be slightly above seasonal, especially around the GTA. A beautiful fall week ahead. Details and timing, below.

SUNDAY AND BEYOND: STORM RISK SHIFTS TO THE EAST, 'GORGEOUS' EARLY FALL WEATHER AHEAD
The rain and thunderstorm risk will ease off in the south and cottage country by early Sunday afternoon, but will linger through the evening hours in eastern areas. The storms should remain non-severe in nature, with the potential for the strongest storms confined to northeastern areas including the Nickel Belt region.

Once the conditions improve Sunday, southern Ontario will see enough sunshine to boost temperatures into the mid-20s for many. Humidity will even seep in somewhat, making it feel closer to 30 for parts of the southwest and GTA. Eastern Ontario, however, remains a bit on the cooler side, with daytime highs remaining around the 20-degree mark.
Beyond, The Weather Network meteorologist Dr. Doug Gillham sees "gorgeous" early fall weather early next week with abundant sunshine and cooler temperatures.

There will be a brief warmup for Wednesday and Thursday, with a potential for temperatures to reach the mid-20s, but another cold front is expected to cross the region late week. This will usher in another shot of chilly weather for Friday and into next weekend.
