Special Weather Statement

Issued at 10:29 Monday 11 December 2017

Widespread snowfall likely tonight and Tuesday.

An Alberta Clipper low pressure area will sail across Southern Ontario tonight into Tuesday. This weather disturbance will bring a general snowfall of 10 to 15 cm with it by Tuesday afternoon.

The snow is expected to begin this evening and taper off late Tuesday morning or Tuesday afternoon. Although localized amounts of 15 to 20 cm are possible, the snowfall warning criterion of 15 cm snow in 12 hours doesn't appear likely to be reached.

Poor winter driving conditions are likely. Untreated roads may become snow covered and slippery.

Environment Canada will continue to monitor this situation and update statements accordingly.
