Proto-Conch Chowder

1102 views Jon Van Loon June 10, 2016 Longboat Key, FL, United States Date shot: October 10, 2012

This live conch rolled onto a beach after a storm. Before it could fully retract into it's shell I was able to obtain this Photo of it's intensively red flesh. Rather than being a candidate for conch chowder, by law it had to be released back into the sea as do all living shellfish found on the beach in this area.
