Southamptons beaches are pristine and the scenery is like no other. Mecox is a public Southampton Town beach with lifeguards endless sand a beach volleyball court restrooms showers and a concession stand. Fishing picknicking and surfing are common activities. Lifeguards are usually on duty from 10am to 5pm during summer months. Residents can obtain a beach barbecue permit for after 6pm from the Parks & Recreation Office. Pets are prohibited between April 1 and October 1 but are allowed at all other times. Camping alcohol bonfires glass containers unsupervised children loud music graffiti and littering are prohibited. Season permits are available at all town beaches and no cars are allowed on the beach. The beach closes at 9pm. Must pay to park and parking permits are required between May 15 and June 25 from 9am-6pm and at all times between July 1 and Labor Day. This is a Tier III beach.
