Beach Conditions

Millerton Point is a saltwater cove located on Tomales Bay. This sandy beach is a popular spot amongst beach-goers who frequent Tomales Bay State Park. This state park was formed to preserve some of the bay shore and offers many amenities such as camping hiking and kayaking. Millerton Point is a great place to launch your kayak when there are high tides. At this beach the water is often shallow and calm perfect for kids! Millerton Point has some facilities such as a parking lot (no overnight parking permitted) picnic tables with grills and restrooms. At its northern end Tomales Bay opens out onto Bodega Bay which helps shelter it from the direct current of the Pacific Ocean. This makes Tomales Bay and in particular Millerton Point perfect for swimming. Tomales Bay is also recognized for protection by the California Bays and Estuaries Policy.
