Description

A period of moderate to heavy rain is expected through Friday aslow pressure moves up the coast. The rain will fall on a primedsnowpack leading to significant melt. The combination of rain andsnowmelt will increase flows in rivers and streams, some of whichcould reach critical levels.* WHAT...Flooding caused by rain and snowmelt continues to bepossible.* WHERE...Portions of south central and southwest Maine, includingthe following areas, in Maine, Central Interior Cumberland. Insouth central Maine, Coastal Waldo, Interior Waldo, Kennebec,Knox, Lincoln, Sagadahoc and Southern Somerset. In southwestMaine, Androscoggin and Coastal Cumberland.* WHEN...Through Friday evening.* IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Floodingmay occur in poor drainage and urban areas.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- Rainfall of 2 inches or more is possible in the watch area.This in combination with 1 to 2 inches of snowmelt will leadto small stream flooding. Urban and low lying flooding isalso possible.
