Special Weather Statement

Issued at 05:35 Monday 18 November 2019

Portions of southern and central Iowa are in between low stratus
to the east and low to mid level cloud cover coming in from the
west. The area in between these two cloud shields are reporting
clear skies and patchy fog. For the most part, visibility in the
fog is between 1 and 3 miles but occasional dips to a quarter mile
have been noted. Visibility will improve once the clouds from the
west move into the area. However, if you are commuting across
southern and parts of central Iowa this morning, be prepared for
localized dense fog and rapid visibility reductions to a quarter
mile...especially in low lying areas. Use caution and be prepared
to slow down quickly in poor visibility.
