Recommended Action

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax andfloat. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in adirection following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face theshore and call or wave for help.

* WHAT...A strong, northward-flowing longshore current and aModerate Risk of rip currents is expected.* WHERE...All Atlantic beaches of East Central Florida, fromVolusia to Martin County.* WHEN...Through late tonight.* IMPACTS...Breezy southeast winds will produce a strong,northward-flowing longshore current today. This can pushswimmers into deeper water unexpectedly, making them moresusceptible to dangerous rip currents.
