Summary

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is occurring.

* WHERE...Birch Creek near Circle

* WHEN...Until 400 PM AKDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding of low lying areas along Birch Creek is
occurring. Water is flowing overbank and flooding portions of the
Steese Highway from Milepost 145 to 147. Increased debris and
erosion is also expected.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 625 PM AKDT, DOT reported recent heavy rain has caused
Birch Creek to flow overbank. On Wednesday, flooding was
observered in Central with Crooked Creek and many other small
streams flooding. This water is now moving down Birch Creek.
Water levels are expected to begin to fall on Friday at the
Steese Highway bridge over Birch Creek as the crest moves
downstream.
- For Birch Creek at the Steese Highway near Circle:
At 6:00pm the stage was 19.1 feet and continuing to rise.

Summary

Light snow may fall at elevations as low as 1500ft but will
struggle to accumulate. Above 2000ft, accumulating snow of up to 1
inch will be possible this morning into the early afternoon.
