A late summer storm will bring strong gusty winds and heavy rain
for portions of Southeast Alaska late this weekend. In particular,
recreationalists, hunters, and mariners should pay special
attention to the local forecasts for details of this storm. Gale
force winds of 35 kt are likely for the Inner Channels with gusts
of 40 to even 55 mph across portions of the northern Panhandle.
In addition, heavy rain will result in significant rises to rivers
and streams. There is a slight risk of mudslides, particularly on
southwest and south facing slopes during windy conditions.
