The Locks of Beveridge Eclipse of May 2002

7240 views Andrea Girones May 16, 2022 155 Beveridge Locks Rd, Perth, ON K7H 3C7, Canada Date shot: May 16, 2022

This lunar eclipse image was shot along the historic Rideau Canal waterway, next to the lower Beveridge locks. After dodging lightning storms all afternoon this was a wonderous sight to behold. During the total lunar eclipse of May 2022, the sky was so dark the stars emerged and the core of the Milky way emerge next to the red moon. The yellow star Antares in the constellation Scorpius points the way to the full moon. The longer exposure required to bring out the Milky way still over exposed the moon, but its reddish circle is clearly visible. This is an actual sky scene no cutting and pasting. Shot with a Nikon 750 astro modified. Rokinon 20mm lens at F 2.8 ISO 1600 Stack of 10x 15 s exposures, stacked in Sequator Processing in Photoshop.
