I was boiling sap in the sugar bush and noticed the glow of the northern lights through the trees but it was rather diffuse, but I planned to try to take some photos when I got home soon after. I was amazed to see the display had developed a lot of activity and by the time I got my camera equipment out of the observatory the display was pulsing through the zenith. This is one of the images captured, a 5 sec exposure through a Canon 60D and 8mm f3.8 lens. Some of the best araura I've seen in a decade!
