Panama Canal Mule Unique in the World

48260 views Jon Van Loon September 4, 2019 Panama Canal, Panama Date shot: October 12, 2009

Every ship that enters the Panama Canal is totally guided through the canal by small railway engines called Mules. Our liner was so big it required 4 mules attached to it, 2 fore and 2 aft. These mules of the Panama Canal Railway Co. are controlled by the Panama Canal Authority pilots. The Panama Canal is the only canal in the world that takes control totally away from the ships captain throughout his ships passage in the canal
