Social media jumps on #windy UK weather

"Gail" force winds clearly perturbs Corrie star


Tuesday, March 31, 2015, 12:38 GMT - A big weather event always trends on social media, such as #weatherbomb and #uksnow, and although the #windy weather we’re experiencing isn’t of hurricane proportions, it’s still been a major talking point on Tuesday.

The UK has been battered by strong winds and heavy rain with gusts peaking at nearly 100mph overnight. Across much of the UK, the winds have been going over 50mph leading to some disruption with strong winds continuing for much of Tuesday.

So it’s no wonder social media has jumped on the event this morning with #windy trending on Twitter.
