Composite image of the November 8, 2022 total lunar eclipse.

8105 views Gary Lachapelle November 12, 2022 Sudbury, ON Date shot: November 8, 2022

The wee hours of the morning offered up crystal-clear skies with a stunning view of the last total lunar eclipse till March 2025. This composite photo highlights the penumbral and umbral phase on the left-hand side, leading to the total eclipse and so-called 'Blood Moon' in the center. The right-hand side represents the moon as it leaves the umbra and penumbra where it eventually disappears below the horizon. Totally worth the loss of sleep! Thanks for looking!!
