Aurora in Victoria

690 views Nic Annau May 28, 2017 Phyllis Park, Phyllis Street, Victoria, BC Date shot: May 28, 2017

On the way home from a Star Party hosted by the Friends of the Dominion Astrophysical Observatory organization (where I am currently employed), I received an excited phone call from a fellow astrophotography friend who was observing using UVic's 32-inch on campus telescope telling me to look North under Cassiopeia. I saw a faint glow from my light polluted front yard, and was so excited I gathered my camera and went to a better location. These photos are the result. This is the only and best aurora I've seen from Victoria - I doubt we will get it this good again in many years! Possibly a once in a lifetime experience - it was beautiful.
