The forecast is looking hit or miss for the weekend, so I figured I would try to take advantage of the clear sky tonight. As I was heading out I figured why not grab the tent, mat and sleeping bag. It's not really that far from home (30 min drive - less than my daily commute used to be when I lived in Edmonton) and I could easily set an alarm to get back into town to shower and get to work in the morning. And then I could let a camera run through the night and not worry about leaving it out all night. I brought my lil pup with me for company. I didn't make the night though; not long after we got there and I had decided I would try staying in the tent, she gave a couple odd 'woofs' and stuck too close to me... and wouldn't settle down like she usually does. That unsettled me enough to just bail for home. Probably a good thing - there was a nice fresh pile of bear poop on the trail in. Glad I listened to her! And happy for my warm bed!
