“I had taken my girlfriend, Nicole, to the Lake Nipissing waterfront here in North Bay to see the crescent Moon and Venus, just after sunset on October 3, 2016. That’s when we spotted an airplane with a golden contrail approaching the Moon. In less than a minute, I got my camera set up on a tripod and focused on the lunar crescent. I had just a few seconds to grab the shot—it really was a case of being in the right place at the right time.”
